Spicy Taco Sauce

This is about to become your go to sauce this summer!

If you love tacos, burritos or anything spicy, you will LOVE this creamy, spicy sauce. This is a zingy, herby addition that will not disappoint!

It’s super quick and easy to make and is FULL of flavour, which means a little goes a long way, and It can be blitzed up and kept in the fridge for up to 2 weeks in a sealed container which is really handy if you fancy trying it with various lunches or dinners.
You can pair this with almost any dish. My favourites are our shrimp tacos or crunchwraps.

You can use any ranch/sour cream as the base and you can use any standard kind you can find in supermarkets to make it easier. I will say Pizza express house dressing is an ideal base. You can find it in most supermarkets; the whole bottle is 1 cup, which means no measuring!

If you love tacos, burritos or anything spicy, you will LOVE this creamy, spicy sauce. This is a zingy, herby addition that will not disappoint!

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup sour cream/Ranch dressing

  • 2 tbsp pickled jalapeños (including brine)

  • 1 tbsp sriracha

  • 2 tsp caster sugar

  • 1 tsp black and red pepper

  • 2 tsp cumin

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

  • 1 tsp oregano

  • 1/2 tsp garlic salt

  • 1/2 tsp onion salt

  • 1/2 tsp dark cocoa powder

Directions

  • Combine the ranch, pickled jalapeños and sriracha together in a food processor or blender until slightly chunky.
  • Add sugar, black and red pepper, cumin, smoked paprika, oregano, garlic salt, onion salt and cocoa powder and blitz until smooth and creamy.

Notes

  • This can stay in the fridge in an airtight container for 2-4 weeks!

You should be left with a little fire from the cayenne pepper, a spicy tang from the pickled jalapenos, and a hint of sweetness from the sugar combined with the rest of the ingredients, leaving you with a well-balanced but super flavoursome sauce that can liven up any dish!
